About Sim Torino

UK-based musician, collaborator and writer.

Sim Torino is a UK-based musician, collaborator and writer whose work grows out of travel, listening and musical exchange. Through Sound Routes, he brings together performances, collaborations, video fragments, field notes and writing from journeys across North and West Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

His recent practice has involved working with musicians and singers connected to Morocco, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea, Mali, Jordan and Egypt. These encounters have shaped a developing approach to collaboration: responsive, improvisatory, human and rooted in the specific character of each musical meeting.

Sound Routes is a space for this ongoing work — a place to gather selected collaborations, travel-based research, writing and future projects.
